Welcome to Forest Lake Area Schools Nutrition Services!
2020-2021 School Meals
The USDA has extended the Summer Meals Program to allow all children 18 and under the opportunity to receive free breakfast and lunch meals through December 31, 2020, or earlier if funding is exhausted. After December 2020, or earlier, students will be required to have a meal application on file to receive free or reduced meal benefits. Those that do not qualify will be charged full price meals. The Meal Benefit Application is available online for easy completion and submission. Even though meals are free for the first few months of school, we still encourage you to fill out the free/reduced meal application. This ensures you will have help paying for meals after December 31st (or prior to if funds run out), it also helps you cover costs for other activities. In addition, it grants our district access to federal funding to support our schools.
The extended Summer Meals Program will allow all children 18 and under the opportunity to enjoy both a breakfast and lunch at no charge. This includes students attending school as well as those participating in hybrid or distant learning.

COVID-19 has had a tremendous impact on everyone! Not only has it affected how we are educating our students, it has also affected how we are safely feeding our students. The Nutrition Services staff are following all Safety Guidelines when preparing and serving meals.
Obtaining many of our student favorites to serve is proving to be challenging! We may need to make substitutions and changes to the menus when products are not available. You may have witnessed the same while shopping for your families. Many of the products that you used in the past may be difficult to find, requiring you to select an alternate item until your favorite is once again available.
Meal service in each school is school specific, dependent upon the size of the cafeteria and student-learning plan. Many of our students will be eating in the cafeteria and will be provided hot meals. Others will be eating in their classrooms and will be provided one of our grab-n-go meals.
Ala Carte items, extra milk and second meals will be available at some locations and will be charged to your account. Money can be entered into your account by accessing our online payment system, PayPams.com.
Families are required to fill out a new free/reduced lunch application every school year.
